Saint Mark School is a community of faith, whose
aim is the education of our children and the teaching of values
of responsible living and serving. At Saint Mark, the child is the
soul, the faculty is the heart and the parents and parishes are
the support.
Our Mission
The mission of the Stratford Catholic Regional School System is
to assist parents of the five Stratford Catholic Parishes in teaching
their Children to know Jesus Christ within the Catholic Faith, while
providing a quality academic education.
Underlying this mission is the belief that children are sacred
and unique, and that childhood is a right. We will provide an atmosphere
wherein the children can learn in a safe, nurturing environment,
which stresses respect for God, self, and others.
Our Academic Program
St. Mark School offers its students a strong academic
program including math, science, English, reading, computer science,
Spanish, social studies, art, and physical education. We have state-of-the-art
computer and science labs, along with dedicated, caring teachers
and staff. Our students integrate their classroom learning with
real-life experiences by visiting theaters, libraries, and museums.
St. Mark students consistently receive excellent scores on annual
achievement tests. This strong foundation serves our children well
in high school and beyond. Our educational goals, objectives, and
programs are directed to the growth of the whole child. We are committed
to educational excellence.
Our Faith
St. Mark School teachers link our academic program
with Catholic values. They connect the Gospel message with their
daily lessons. Our community of faith is strengthened by daily Morning
Prayer, weekly worship at Mass, and the joyful celebration of religious
holidays.
We know that our children are the future. We prepare them to meet
the challenges of their world. They are taught that God walks with
them through their lives and that their faith in Him will sustain
them.
At St. Mark we create an atmosphere that encourages personal integrity,
self respect, discipline, and individual dignity. Students are taught
the importance of respect for their peers, teachers, principal and
community. These lessons in appropriate Christian behavior and manners
afford all of our students a nurturing environment in which they
can grow and learn.
