Admissions Process

St. Mark School is currently welcoming applications for the 2024-2025 school year.

Please review the steps outlined below. If you need any assistance throughout the process, please call us at 203.375.4291 or email [email protected].

Step 1 - Explore: By taking a look at our website, you are on your way to completing Step 1! Spend some time here, read About Us, review our Mission Statement and our Principal's Message, and consider what is important to you and your family. Review our Curriculum and learn about our Personalized Learning initiative.

Step 2 - Visit: Ready for a closer look at our program or want to schedule a tour? Complete an Inquiry and we will follow up with you.

Step 3 - Apply: Complete an Application by setting up an account on our admissions portal. Applying for more than one child? You will only set up one account, which can manage multiple applications.

Step 4 - Shadow/Screen (K-8): Once the application, transcripts, and recommendation forms have been received, applicants for Grades 2+ schedule a Shadow Day. Students will spend the day with their current grade level, going to classes, meeting teachers and students, meeting with our principal, and taking an assessment administered by our Learning Specialist. Students applying for Kindergarten and Grade 1 schedule a readiness assessment screening administered by the Head Teacher.

Step 5 - Financial Aid (K-8): K-8 families in need of financial assistance may apply each year to the Bishop's Scholarship Fund. The mission of the Bishop's Scholarship Fund is to help families in need afford a Catholic education. The application process opens  February 1 and awards are announced in May. More information is available about the Bishop's Scholarship Fund.

Step 6 - Enroll:
Once a student is accepted, they are invited to enroll. Via the Admissions Portal, you will complete some additional information such as emergency contacts, provide current medical information, and manage the tuition contract. There is a non-refundable registration fee per family: $150 for first student and $50 for each additional student.

Priority for admissions:

  • 1st Priority: Siblings of currently enrolled St. Mark students

  • 2nd Priority: Currently enrolled St. Mark students

  • 3rd Priority: Siblings of former St. Mark students

  • 4th Priority: All other students

-All children enrolled in our program must have a current physical examination, all state required immunizations, and a complete and current health form. Physical exams are current for one year from the date of the exam and must be updated as required to remain current. A child whose physical exam is not current will be asked to remain out of class until seen by a physician.
-All children must be potty-trained and non-diaper dependent as of the first day of preschool in September.

It is understood that all children are enrolled for an eight-week trial period. The school staff will evaluate each child’s readiness and will give a 30-day written notice if it is deemed that the program is not meeting the child’s needs.
